Waxy deep
red-red-violet to red-orange petals with a even more intense
red burgundy lip characterizes the blossoms of C. Lutiaca
x Slc. Pukalani Cherry. Flowers are held in clusters on reasonably
compact plants during this first blooming. I do imagine that
the plants could grow to a medium size ranging from 12"
to 18" upon maturity.
Exploding with a fiery display of blossoms, during these cooler
winter months makes this hybrid a welcome sight, for it's
psychologically warming effect.
A hybrid we expect to have, in limited supply over a two to
three year span, this particular orchid tends to grow slowly
when compared to our other hybrids. It has garnered our attention
this month, not necessarily for it's cultural aspects, but
more for it's beautiful vivid blossoms warming our hearts
as the weather cools.
