We refer to this group as relatives/intergenerics of the broad Cattleya alliance. Almost without exception, these clones or hybrids are specifically selected and bred to finish in a 4" pot or smaller. Most will bloom a minimum of twice a year with clusters of blossoms. Also included in this group are spiking-types (i.e., Ctna. Why Not). Because these produce spikes rather than a sheath prior to blooming, they are more suitable for the export market.

These orchid seedlings are grown in 98-cell trays with a minimum of 90 plants per tray. One variety per tray only. Average plant height ranges from 3 to 5 inches (or 7.5 to 12.5 centimeters). Minimum order is 1 tray. For our own production we transplant these to 3.5" square pots, but some people may prefer to transplant them into 2.25" pots.
The average growing to blooming time based on Hawaii conditions is 7 to 10 months.

Codes starting with "M" are mericlones. All others are hybrids (i.e., produced by seed). Descriptions for hybrids indicate the general outcome of crossing. Variations may occur.
